Noel E. Anderson
Dr. Noel E. Anderson is Managing Partner of Mosaic Food Advisors that helps start-up companies in the food and beverage arena drive sustainable business growth in the market place.
Noel recently retired from PepsiCo after almost 19 years. In his most recent position, Noel led the Measurement Sciences teams including Analytical Sciences, Biological & Discovery Analytics, Microbiological Sciences, and the Statistics & Data Modeling teams.
Previously, Noel worked at General Foods and Kraft for over 18 years. While there, he worked in almost every product category including Jell-O Ready to Eat Pudding and Gelatin Snacks and Post Cereals. Noel also served as Vice President of Research, Quality and Regulatory Affairs for Kraft Canada.
Having received his BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Food Science and Nutrition, Noel has stayed actively engaged with the Food Science Department. Noel served on its Industrial Advisory Board for more than 20 years, with 16 years as its Chairperson. During this time the department raised over $11 million and its Graduate Program achieved the #1 ranking in the US. He received the UMass Amherst Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Award in 2011.
Noel is also very active in the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). He was elected as an IFT Fellow in 2010, is a Certified Food Scientist, and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Feeding Tomorrow, IFT’s foundation. Noel also serves on the Board of the FoodBev Forum which is dedicated to driving innovation in R&D.
Noel has three grown daughters and lives in Stamford, CT.
